It’s been 91 years since Remington produced a 1911 handgun and with the introduction of the Remington 1911 R1, Remington is officially back in the 1911 business. The first Remington 1911 pistols were produced in 1917 in an effort to aide France, Russia and Britain during World War I. The Second World War saw the revival of the Remington 1911 and helped the company to perfect the 1911 handgun model. |

Now, nearly a century later, the Remington 1911 R1 is one of the most customized 1911 pistols to ever be designed.Featuring the famous Remington logo on one side and “1911 R1” on the other, the Remington 1911 R1 includes a flared and lowered ejection port, loaded chamber indicator and fixed three-dot sight. Like the original Remington 1911 handguns, the new 1911 R1 has double diamond grips, a short trigger and grip safety with a manual thumb safety.
