The Remington 770 gun series is by far one of the best bolt action rifles today. The 308 handles and fires just like the Remington 300 win. mag that I own. It is very dependable and a smooth shooting and handling gun.

My wife and I bought the 770 30-06 model, at Wal-Mart. The bolt action on it is a bit sticky, but i bought some remington lube and sprayed it on the bolt action, then wiped most of it off with a soft terry cloth. It seemed a bit smoother. WE also noticed a problem when you put two or more shells in the clip. They don't seem to slide in that easy. I put one shell in the chamber, and one in the clip. That seems to work great, but the down fall is you better make your shot count... Also sighting in the scope was very easy, I was hitting targets at 400 yards easly. Not to bad for a $337.00 and a $50.00 dollar mail in rebate.
